| Does anyone take any suggestions for what is most advisable for a guy to clothing to a xx-year high school reunion? If information technology matters, the schoolhouse is in a centre-to-upper-middle grade suburban area and the reunion will be in a nice but generic hotel banquet hall setting. I'thou kinda thinking dark adjust (trim cutting, not businessy) with interesting shirt and no necktie. But would I be better off with a tie? With a sportcoat and slacks? Try to gauge what the other men are wearing. If and then you lot see them with only a wearing apparel shirt, you lot can at least take the jacket off. Speaking for myself, Information technology never hurts to overdress. I would rather become in that manner than being inappropriately attired for an event. |

| Wear a blackness tuxedo and accessorize with a twenty year old blond hottie (who should be wearing a little black dress and really loftier heels). Explain that you had some other result earlier - don't elaborate. |

| Get for flattering over interesting. I remember a safety bet is to get with squeamish slacks, apparel shirt, necktie and sweater. If people are more casual you can take off your tie and skid it in your pocket. But the sweater won't look glaringly dressy or coincidental either manner if its a classic flattering cut. You tin can always article of clothing the sports jacket over the sweater too. I just think sweaters expect friendlier than jackets. |

| I guess that a serious response is needed here. Its a hotel banquet hall. No matter if its a generic hotel or the Ritz. Admittedly NO SWEATERS, VESTS, Casual Wearing apparel, flow. Wear a dark blue or near black ii button single breasted suit, plain (no initials, Freench cuffs, etc.) white 100% cotton shirt (no i should ever own anything else), and a smashing tie. Get the men'due south store guy to help y'all with this. At that place is more to it than you call back. If you have to mail service this question, you are incapable of picking out a good tie. That's not an insult, its a fact. I can't cull a picture frame for a painting. Too much at work. Same with the tie. Dark socks and black shoes. No stupid buckles or decor. When you get there, if you are the merely person in a night adapt (which you volition not be), take off your jacket, put it on your chair back, open up your collar push button and leave your tie on. Its 1 of the most dressy places in the nation and he'south from Evanston which is ane of the wealthiest suburbs in the entire US with a household income of 150% of the national average and about 160% higher than Pittsburgh (or Cincinnati where I alive). | Oddly enough, guys dressed a little more formally for my 10th reunion. For the 20th near of them wore nice shirts and pants and called information technology good. For the 30th a couple of them went wearing encompass-alls! For the 35th, many looked like slobs. So it's obvious to me that with each passing decade men (and some women) adult a bigger "who am I to impress" attitude. |
